SKILLS NEEDED

Competence to teach third level English language. A bachelor’s degree or teaching diploma. A TEFL diploma is a decided help (and essential for those without teaching experience). A fluent speaker with clear enunciation and a lively teaching style.

Competence to teach – Journalism, Law, Engineering, Import & Export Trade, Computer Science, Biology, Pharmacy and Costume Design.

Able to say ”I try to live by Gospel principles, to trust, to pray and to be led by God”. Clearly this is ‘mission’ in the sense of integral human development both for teacher and students. This entails being receptive to a rich and ancient culture and willing to share with others one’s acquired knowledge, gifts and graces. To be affirming of life through personal witness and service.

LIFE AND WORK

Contract is for one year renewable. College year runs from August 27 to July 7. Accommodation is normally provided free-of-charge on the campus. Salary is adequate for the needs of a simple but comfortable life-style. Unless they have an MA or higher degree Teachers pay their own fare to and from Hong Kong. They also pay other preparation costs eg. Insurance, orientation etc. C.E.C. may give assistance in individual deserving cases.
